The Locus Art

Art that thinks.
Systems that feel.

Every Locus piece emerges from a generative system — a set of precise mathematical rules executed by algorithm. No two outputs are identical. No output is arbitrary. The work sits at the intersection of rigorous computation and human aesthetic judgement.

Computation as craft

Generative art is made by defining a system — not by drawing. The artist designs rules: mathematical relationships, physical simulations, noise functions, growth patterns. The algorithm executes those rules. The result is a work that could not exist without both the human intelligence behind the system and the machine's ability to resolve it.

This is not digital illustration and it is not AI image generation. There are no prompts and no training sets. Every Locus piece is built from first principles: a bespoke algorithm, written and tuned for each commission, generating output that reflects your brief exactly — palette, proportion, mood, and scale.

Because the work is algorithmic, it is also endlessly generative. The same system can produce hundreds of coherent originals — each genuinely unique, each unmistakably part of the same family. That is what makes it ideal for hospitality: one visual language, one property, every room different.

Three directions. Infinite variations.

01

Organic

Nature & Growth

Forms borrowed from the natural world and rebuilt by algorithm. Perlin noise flow fields simulate the drift of water and air. Recursive branching systems echo the architecture of trees and mycelium. Growth ring patterns follow the same mathematics as agate and dendrite. Voronoi tessellations map the cellular geometry found in leaf tissue and insect wing.

The result is work that reads as natural without being literal — abstract enough to hold attention, organic enough to feel at rest in a space. Suited to spa, wellness, and biophilic interiors, but equally at home in a restaurant that wants warmth without ornament.

Mathematical

Precision & Structure

Beauty derived from exactness. These systems take formal mathematical objects — rose curves, standing wave equations, modular multiplication, Lissajous figures, torus knots — and render them at the scale and resolution of fine art print. The complexity visible at close range is the same complexity that reads across a lobby.

Works in this family reward inspection. There is always more to find. They carry a quiet authority suited to corporate hospitality, private members' clubs, and any space where precision is itself a value. Palettes can range from stark monochrome to richly saturated, depending on brief.

Atmospheric

Movement & Depth

Works built from light, gradient, and motion. Aurora curtains rendered with luminous screen-blending. Marble-like domain-warped fields that shift between veins of colour. Plasma fields with radiant heat sources. Neon circuit traces that glow against deep grounds. These pieces carry strong visual presence without hard edges or rigid structure.

At home in any space that trades on atmosphere — bars, rooftop lounges, hotel lobbies after dark, digital installations on LED walls. They scale exceptionally well to large formats and respond beautifully to lighting conditions that shift across the day.

From brief to algorithm to print

1

The brief is translated into parameters

Palette, proportion, density, movement speed, branching behaviour, curvature — every aspect of the system is configurable. A brief that references "slow mineral sediment" becomes specific noise scales and frequency settings. Brand colours become exact hex values encoded into the algorithm's palette.

2

The algorithm runs at production resolution

Each piece is rendered at up to 6000 × 9000 pixels — sufficient for print runs at 400 DPI up to very large formats. The output is mathematically exact: no JPEG compression artefacts, no up-scaling, no AI hallucination. The pixel is a consequence of an equation.

3

Every output is a genuine original

The same algorithm, run with a different seed, produces a genuinely different image. Not a variation — an original. This is how a property can have 60 rooms with 60 different artworks that share an unmistakable visual voice. No artwork in the collection is a copy of another.

4

The system is yours, exclusively

The algorithm parameters, palette, and seed range used for your commission are locked to your property. The same system will never be offered to another client. If you need additional works — for a new wing, a renovation, or a replacement — they can be generated at any time, guaranteed consistent with your existing collection.

Every format the project requires

Large-format print

Print-ready TIFF or PDF at 300–400 DPI. Adobe RGB 1998 colour profile; CMYK profiling on request. Substrate specifications — archival matte, canvas, aluminium dibond — included per application. Works have been produced up to 3 × 4 metres.

Framed & editions

Framing specifications provided with every delivery. Works are produced as single-property editions — a defined number of prints per image per property, documented and certified. No image is re-issued to another client under any circumstances.

Digital & animated

The same generative system can produce looping animated video (MP4/WebM, up to 4K) for digital frames, LED walls, and projected installations. The animated version is visually indistinguishable in character from the static prints — it is the same algorithm, running in real time.
